NAIDOC Day fun in July

The City of Logan will celebrate the rich and diverse cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians with a free community event in July.

Division 2 Councillor Teresa Lane and Logan Elders are inviting everyone to attend the local celebrations for NAIDOC Week (7-14 July) on Tuesday, 9 July.

‘This year’s theme is Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud and no one does that better, louder or prouder than the City of Logan,’ Cr Lane says.

‘The free event will feature entertainment, food and rides, all thanks to the work of Logan Elders and local not-for-profit groups and businesses.’

Attendees can also join a flag-raising ceremony, didgeridoo workshop and a damper-making competition.

‘Our Logan Elders do an outstanding job of providing a great experience for anyone wanting to come and celebrate NAIDOC Day,’ Cr Lane says.

The NAIDOC 2024 Family Fun Day is at the Kingston Butter Factory Cultural Precinct, 270 Jacaranda Ave, Kingston, on Tuesday, 9 July, from 9 am (gates open 8:30 am).
