Our parks perfect for summer fun

Many Division 8 residents embrace an active and healthy outdoor lifestyle, which makes our local parks ideal family-friendly destinations this summer.

Whether it’s exercising, taking the kids to play, or just chilling out in the outdoors, our parks offer something for everyone.

Development in our area is bringing dozens of new residents into our suburbs each week. That’s why new parks and upgrading existing facilities are so important.

Here’s just a few Division 8 parks you might like to explore:

› Flindersia Riverside Park (Logan Reserve): Relatively new, this offers a flying fox, large playgrounds, basketball half-court, picnic shelters, barbecues and toilets.

› Solandra Park (Regents Park): A space theme features at this popular park in Aspera Street, including a 6.6-metre rocket ship play tower and slide, swing, moon buggy and refuelling ‘space station’. Picnic shelters have been refurbished and there’s a new accessible pathway.

› Sweetfern Park (Logan Reserve): This expansive space, on Sweetfern Drive, includes a large kick-around space, a multipurpose court with basketball hoop, picnic shelters, play and exercise equipment, seating and rubbish bins.

› Isle of Ely Park (Heritage Park): This hidden gem in Isle of Ely Drive is ideal to escape the hustle and bustle. The entry pathway features a painted floral mural and the play area includes a multi-level climbing tower and a group rocker under a shade sail.

‘It has lots of open spaces and the range of different play equipment and facilities is great,’ Matthew says.
