Plenty of local fun this holiday season

The recent upgrade of the Croydon Road precinct in Logan Central is the first major move to rejuvenate the area ahead of the railway station upgrade and the 2032 Olympics and Paralympics.

Whether you are heading to the Croydon Rd precinct for business, visiting one of the many local wonderful businesses located there or heading to the Sunday market, residents can now enjoy:
› A shared zone in Croydon Road with wide spaces, shade trees, seating and shelters (which offers opportunities for outdoor dining in the future)
› Creation of a more welcoming space with new public toilets and vibrant public artwork
› Improved safety through additional lighting and cameras

The works were funded by Logan City Council and the Queensland Government.

The area hosts the Global Food Markets every Sunday from 6 am to 12 pm. The markets feature fresh food, homegrown fruit and vegies along with tasty and exotic treats that reflect many of our city’s 234 vibrant cultures.

Division 2 Councillor Teresa Lane says a visit to the Global Food Markets over the coming weeks is an ideal way to add something different and delicious to your family’s Christmas or holiday table.

‘I am at the Global Food Markets almost every weekend and host a mobile office there on the last Sunday of the month from 7 am to 8:30 am for local residents to stop and have a chat.’

Other events, free or low-cost, and places of interest across Division 2 that will help you get into the holiday spirit include:
› Logan City Council Christmas Carols (Kingston Butter Factory, Saturday, 7 December, 3 pm)
› Milky Way Market (Kingston Butter Factory Cultural Precinct, Friday, 20 December, 5 pm – 9 pm)
› Logan Art Gallery (Jacaranda Ave, Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm, except public holidays. Admission is free)
