Plenty of perks for Division 9 locals
Division 9 residents have heaps to celebrate this summer season.
Works are now complete on a range of projects making it easier for families and visitors to use and enjoy local facilities, and travel through the community.
Local league players are celebrating the completion and opening of Jimboomba Thunder’s new multi-million-dollar clubhouse, funded by Logan City Council and the Australian Government.
But there’s also been plenty of other works happening behind the scenes.
Division 9 Councillor Scott Bannan says even ‘minor’ improvements made to local infrastructure is time well spent.
‘Our hardworking residents, clubs and community organisations deserve all the support Council gives them, which is why I always have a list of local projects a mile long,’ Cr Bannan says.
‘We’ve got some great runs on the board lately and all of them have been about making local people’s lives that much easier.’
Recently completed upgrades include:
› The installation of a new toilet block at Pioneer Park, Woodhill
› A new footpath outside the Caddies Community Centre on South Street
› New outdoor arena lighting at the Jimboomba Pony Club
› A new safety camera and landscaping works at the Edelsten Road/ East Street roundabout
› New shade cover for spectators and players at Jimboomba Tennis Club
› Improved long jump and javelin run ups at Jimboomba Little Athletics
› New hoops, backboards and poles for Jimboomba Basketball
Council has also recently completed Stage 2 of Jimboomba’s Local Road Upgrades program. The works included improvements to sections of Anders Street, Ann Street, Cross Street, Manning Street and Spring Street.
