Super summer spruce up for popular pool
The summer holidays are looking good for patrons of Gould Adams Pool in Kingston.
Recent upgrade and maintenance work on the 3 pools has given them new life.
The indoor facility has a 25-metre pool, a learn-to-swim pool and a kids’ play pool.
Works conducted by Logan City Council included:
› Replacing the shell linings of all 3 indoor pools
› New waterproofing, rendering and tiling
› New starting blocks for the 25-metre pool A fresh coat of paint for the facility
› New tiling in the changeroom showers
› Other general maintenance and repairs
A new lift platform is also on the way to ensure the main pool is accessible for all abilities.
Division 2 Councillor Teresa Lane thanked the local community for its patience during the upgrade works.
‘This facility is so important for our local residents, particularly early morning with the golden oldies who do rehab and mobility programs,’ Cr Lane says.
‘It’s also a great place to hang out in the hot weather and the upgrade has brightened and improved the facility, and will make visiting the pool even more enjoyable over the coming holidays.’
