Tapping into decades of life experience
Seniors in our community are a wealth of knowledge and wisdom.
And residents of Palm Lake Resorts in Eagleby and Mount Warren Park are no exception.
Division 12 Councillor Karen Murphy recently visited 3 facilities to enjoy morning tea with more than 100 residents and get their feedback on a range of issues within their communities and across the city.
Residents also got a reminder on the many services provided by Logan City Council, such as those offered by our libraries, and an update on local projects in their areas. They also learned about the importance of everyone, irrespective of age, continuing to do their bit to help protect the environment.
Cr Murphy says retirement villages are an essential part of the City of Logan and Division 12 community.
‘It is always a joy to spend time with the residents who make these villages so special,’ Cr Murphy says.
‘I put extremely high value on their thoughts and feedback, and I appreciate everyone who asks questions and provides input to help shape our neighbourhoods.
‘I will now take this feedback back to Council and work with officers to help make our community a better place to live, work and visit.’
Residents’ Committee President at Palm Lake Mount Warren Park, Denis Douglas, says Cr Murphy’s visit was ‘fantastic and well-received’.
‘It was a very impressive and important experience for all our residents, and we all appreciated the expert local knowledge provided by Councillor Murphy,’ Denis says.
