Christmas events spread holiday cheer
Deck the halls at KBF for city’s Christmas Carols
The City of Logan will be merry and bright with the holiday spirit this December with community Christmas events scheduled across the city.
The family-favourite City of Logan Christmas Carols will light up the Kingston Butter Factory Cultural Precinct from 2pm on Saturday, December 9.
Mitch Tambo (Australia’s Got Talent, Eurovision), Jonathan Welch (Choir of Hard Knocks founder), Danielle Matthews (The Voice Australia) and talented local choirs and dance groups will lead a colourful Christmas show on the outdoor stage from 3pm.
Children of all ages will delight in a special Christmas-themed PAW Patrol performance, photos with Santa, free face painting and a colouring-in competition.
A selection of food trucks will serve a festive feast of savoury and sweet treats. Attendees are also encouraged to bring a picnic to the event.
There will also be an on-stage Auslan interpreter, large-font and colourblind programs, a hearing loop and a dedicated quiet zone to ensure everyone can get involved in the festive fun.
The event will end with fireworks at 8pm.
Mayor Darren Power said the annual Christmas Carols are always a favourite among the community.
“It’s always fantastic to see the community come together at Christmas events across the City, including our annual Carols, and get into the festive spirit,” Cr Power said.
Lifestyle Chair Cr Tony Hall expects a large crowd at this year’s Carols.
“I hope local families from all over the city will join us to spread some Christmas cheer and goodwill,” Cr Hall said.
Parking at the Kingston Butter Factory is limited. A free shuttle bus service will operate between the Logan Entertainment Centre and the event site from 2pm.
This is a pet-free and alcohol-free event, and unsealed beverages are not permitted.
