Artists share stories and life tales through exhibitions

Water colour artist Jeffrey Service will share his quirky world view at the Logan Art Gallery later this month.

Jeffrey’s Choices and conundrums exhibition features a series of watercolour artworks which poke fun at the oddness of life.

They also capture his time living in a Californian hippie commune in 1968 and paddling a dug-out canoe down the Rio de la Pasión in Guatemala.

Jeffrey returned to Australia in 1980 and now works out of his Auchenflower studio in Brisbane.

His works will be part of an exhibition that runs from Friday, October 21 to Saturday, November 26.

The exhibition also features a series of watercolours titled The Story of Landscape by Loganholme artist Phuong Ly.

They depict the daily life and landscapes from the City of Logan and other places.

Bethania artist Kris Estreich’s Home and habitat exhibition is focused on environment and social issues such as the loss of habitat and lockdowns.

Kris uses recycled and re-purposed objects to investigate the concept of ‘home and habitat’ for people and native wildlife.

Artist Anna Gonzalez will share stories of her experiences growing up under the Franco dictorial regime in Spain.

She has used photography, painting, sculpture and dioramas to create her When the trees shake, the dance begins exhibition.

The gallery, on the corner of Jacaranda Ave and Wembley Rd, Logan Central, is open Tuesday to Saturday (10am to 5pm). Entry is free.
