Survey says: Logan’s libraries are tops!
The City of Logan’s nine libraries are well-loved by the community, and now they’ve been given an extra tick of approval in the 2022 Logan Listens: Residents’ Survey as the top-rated service or facility for satisfaction.
The survey is conducted by an independent research company every two years to measure and track performance in Logan City Council’s delivery of services and facilities and to uncover areas of improvement and priorities for the future.
Governance Chair, Councillor Karen Murphy, said Council used the data to better understand the community’s views on the importance of services provided, as well as their satisfaction.
“This year, 1300 residents were surveyed by phone, while 300 people responded to the online survey,” Cr Murphy said.
“I’m really pleased to see residents strongly believe Council staff are professional and polite, provide clear advice when needed and deal with enquiries in a timely manner, which makes Council easy to do business with.”

The top-rated services and facilities for satisfaction were:
- libraries
- general waste collection
- recycling and reuse services
- immunisation program
- Logan Entertainment Centre
- accessibility of parks
Cr Murphy said Council continued to deliver high-quality programs and services to the community despite some challenging years.
“We’ve all seen the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and floods in our city, but I’m proud of the way Council has continued supporting our community through the good and the bad,” she said.
“The survey showed that residents want us to focus more on roads, pest and weed control, illegal dumping, mosquito management and the health of our rivers.
“The wet weather played a big part in how we were able to manage these services but we’ll take that feedback on board as we get into future planning and budget deliberations.
“I’d like to thank everyone who participated in the 2022 Logan Listens survey.
“Your opinions matter to us so we can continue to improve the quality of life for everyone who calls the City of Logan home.”
