Indigenous heritage to be celebrated

Children in the City of Logan can go on an outback adventure through Logan Libraries National Reconciliation Week activities.

Logan Central Library will host the Nana Magic, Tilly and Friends show featuring dancing and singing for children under eight from 10am to 11am on Wednesday, June 1.

An indigenous plant session will also be presented by University of Southern Queensland Elder in Residence Uncle Wayne Fossey at Logan Central Library as part of the national week.

The cultural connection of indigenous plants session is from 10.30am to noon on Saturday,
May 28.

Uncle Wayne will share the relationship between indigenous plants and wildlife and the spiritual connection to country which has existed for tens of thousands of years.

He will also discuss how plants are used to make food and bush medicine.
