Nominate a community hero

Nominations still open for Australia Day Awards

There is still time to nominate an outstanding community member for the 2024 City of Logan Australia Day Awards.

Nominations close on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at 5pm.

The Citizen of the Year and Young Citizen of the Year are awarded to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the local community over a number of years.

The awards will be presented on Friday, January 26, 2024.

Berrinba resident, Rachel Simpkin-Bale, was recognised as 2023 Citizen of the Year for her tireless work over 30 years advocating against domestic violence.

The 2023 Young Citizen of the Year was awarded to Bravehearts Youth Ambassador Amelia Ayris for her volunteer work advocating for child safety.

Mayor Darren Power said the annual awards celebrate the often unsung heroes of the community.

“Our city is bursting with exceptional people who have gone above and beyond to service their community, and this is our chance to recognise them for their remarkable contributions,” Cr Power said.
