You don’t need to compromise on taste if you have dietary requirements at this Meadowbrook standout. This cafe uses a separate fryer and toaster for coeliacs to enjoy dishes like satay chicken skewers and their famous chicken quesadillas. Make sure you save some space for their gluten-free treats which are all baked in-house – we’ve heard the carrot cake is the best in town.

This South African-inspired spot in Loganholme serves up gluten-free pies, chips, burgers, macaroni and cheese and more. There’s plenty of parking so grab a seat outdoors and try their famous gluten-free curry pies. Don’t forget to finish off with something sweet from the selection of gluten-free tarts and pastries.

A long-time local favourite, Blackout Coffee uses local produce for its quality gluten-free creations. Standouts include the chocolate caramilk brownie and brekkie tower, which features crispy streaky bacon, beef patty, golden hashbrown and a gluten-free brioche roll. There are also several menu offerings with gluten-free variations available.

If you have a craving for fish and chips, The Happy Fryer is famous for its scrumptious gluten-free batter. With an entirely separate menu and fryer designated for coeliacs, you can chow down on the likes of battered cod, crumbed snapper and garlic butter calamari. The Happy Fryer also fries up a delicious house-made gluten-free chicken schnitzel.

One of Springwood’s hidden gems, this intimate restaurant-slash-bar is the perfect spot for late-night drinking and dining. Dimly lit with limited seating, it’s the place to bring a friend and try the famous signature share plates – choose from options like kimchi pancakes and crispy fried squid. The gluten-free loaded nachos are also incredibly popular and can be washed down with the gluten-free cloudy apple cider.

Not your usual Indian takeout spot, Randhawa’s is the third iteration of owner Harry Randhawa’s take on Indian fine dining. He guarantees that every dish is cooked right from scratch, using only the freshest ingredients that ‘replicate royal dishes once enjoyed by Mughal kings in India’. Don’t miss the gluten-free paneer tikka, tandoori chicken or lamb seekh kebabs.
