Fuelling US business ambitions

All the way to the USA

The City of Logan has launched a program designed to help high-growth scale ups crack the lucrative US market.

The United States Market Access Program is an accelerator program delivered by the City of Logan in partnership with Los Angeles-based Network for Global Innovation (NGIN).

It aims to equip participants with the tools needed to go global.

The program is supported by Trade and Investment Queensland, Go1 and the Australian Government Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources through AusIndustry’s Entrepreneurs’ Programme.

Up to 10 high-growth scale ups can participate.

Economic Development Chair Councillor Jon Raven said Council is committed to nurturing the next generation of local entrepreneurs.

“Access to customers all over the world is critical if we want to unlock the potential of businesses in the City of Logan,” Cr Raven said.

“Companies such as Go1 started as four local blokes with a great idea and now they are a billion dollar global company headquartered here in Logan.

“The United States Market Access Program is about helping promising new businesses reach the next level with access to international markets.”

The United States Market Access Program was officially launched yesterday at the City of Logan’s coLab Growth Hub at Underwood.

It will begin in August and run through to March next year.

One company will be selected and its representatives given the opportunity to fly to San Francisco to begin business engagements in the American market.

Applications are open and close on Friday, July 1.

The City of Logan’s coLab offers customised support to high-growth startups.

It has helped companies such as National Drones, Black Sky Aerospace and Akunah scale and grow their businesses.

Go1 is a global edu-tech company valued at over $1 billion.
