Brothers to the rescue!

Saving a life is a rare occurrence for most – especially when the rescuers are children.

At ages 4 and 6, brothers Tegh and Rabbi Virdi are already among those rare few, by saving another 4-year-old from drowning in a swimming pool during a Gold Coast holiday.

Their instinct to help the boy out of the water was recently celebrated when Save A Mate swimming safety identity Laurie Lawrence handed the boys Kids Alive medals at Logan Swim School – where the brothers take lessons.

Their mother, Simran Virdi, says the rescue was ‘a heart-stopping moment’.

‘Yet seeing how promptly Rabbi and Tegh responded fills me with immense pride,’ she says.
