2025 Murri Women's Softball Tournament
The Murri Women’s Softball Tournament is a 2-day event featuring participation from over 200 Indigenous women from across Queensland.
First held in 2014 as a one-day tournament with 6 teams, it has since expanded to include triple the number of teams and now spans 2 days.
The tournament is open to women of all ages, levels of softball experience, and health backgrounds. It is designed to be inclusive, encouraging participation from those who may not typically engage in traditional softball competitions. Teams are often formed by families or community groups, with no grading based on skill or club affiliation.
The event promotes physical activity and community connection, while also aiming to reduce common barriers to participation such as cost, time, and experience. Family-friendly activities, including entertainment for children, are also provided to support a welcoming and inclusive environment.
