Amplify: Battle of the Bands

With a panel of judges from the music industry and great prizes up for grabs, school bands will go head-to-head for their chance to be crowned Amplify’s ‘Band of the Year’.

To enter, schools or bands are required to submit their nomination by 1 September – entry is free.

Bands accepted into the finals will be notified on 12 September. Students must be aged between 12 and 18 with the ability to perform up to 3 original songs. Songs must be suitable for a family audience without inappropriate language or offensive content.

The finals will be held at Logan Entertainment Centre on 12 October. Each band will be allocated a sound check on Saturday afternoon and will play live that evening to impress the judges and audience. The winning band will be announced at the end of the evening.

The major prize is a 2-day professional recording studio session with Alchemix Studios. The winning band will receive a professionally produced, mixed and recorded version of an original song.
