Car park upgrade a boost for Woodhill
Students are safer, and pick-ups and drop off times have halved at Woodhill State School after an upgrade to the car park.
A new retaining wall and fencing provides students with a safe wait area, while a new concrete path has improved pedestrian access.
Councillor Scott Bannan allocated divisional funding to the project.
“Getting to and from school is now much easier for the students and their families,” Cr Bannan says.
“Cars and buses can move through the car park which lessens congestion on Mt Lindesay Highway.”
Woodhill State School P&C secretary, Gemma Pfingst, says the school’s families are thrilled with the works.
“Everything is so streamlined now that the whole car park is empty by seven past three,” she says.
Cr Bannan also allocated Local Infrastructure Program funding to the school’s Wellness Day, which included lunch for each student, face painting and health and wellbeing activities.
