Invitation to be your own boss
Logan locals who live with disability are invited to attend a free information session to learn more about starting their own microbusiness.
Microbusinesses, or businesses that operate on a very small scale, provide a great opportunity for people with disability to earn an income, increase self-confidence and achieve greater independence.
The Carers Queensland’s Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) Microbusiness Program aims to empower, educate and support people with disability to establish or create their own microbusiness.
On Friday, 4 July, from 10 am to noon, people with disability can attend an information session in Kingston to learn more about the BYOB Microbusiness Program.
At this inclusive and accessible event, Carers Queensland staff will provide details about the program including business mentoring topics.
A Carers Queensland spokesperson says it’s a great opportunity for potential program participants to also ask questions and assess whether this program is suitable for them.
The discovery workshop will form the second part of this event and is for people with disability to explore their ideas and direction for their microbusiness.
During the course of this program, Logan locals with disability can connect with local business and peer mentors and learn how to grow their microbusiness in a supportive environment.
At the end of the BYOB program, attendees can attend and display their business at a local marketplace.
Registration is essential and places for the 2025 program are limited. To register your interest visit https://carersqld.com.au/ndis/inclusion-projects/be-your-own-boss/ or call 1300 999 636.
Carers Queensland is the state’s largest National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) partner in the community and its Logan office is located at 6 Ewing Road, Logan Central, or call 3441 3600.
