Best Father's Day activities in Logan

Father’s Day is coming up on Sunday, 7 September, and there are plenty of ways to make some great memories happen with Dad and Grandpa around the City of Logan.

Take Dad out for a picnic at one of our city’s beautiful parks, treat him to a special brunch, pub feast or all-you-can-eat buffet, join him for a swing at a driving range or stroll on the golf greens, or maybe he’s up for the ultimate go-cart challenge?

Sunday Markets

Celebrate with Dad at the Beenleigh Showground Markets from 6 am to noon, located in central Beenleigh, so it’s too easy to grab a coffee and bite to eat as well as walking through the stalls. Held at 38-44 James Street, Beenleigh.

For some multicultural flavours, Dad can choose from a hot breakfast from a melting hot pot of global cuisines including South-East Asian, Indian, African, Pacific Islands, and tastes from the Middle East – all on offer at the Global Food Markets, from 6 am to noon, at the corner of Croydon Road and Station Road (next to Woodridge train station), Logan Central.

Father’s Day menu at Distillery Road Market

Book Dad a feast fit for a king at Perentie Brewing Co with a special Smoke Pit menu, featuring slow-cooked, mouth-watering delights designed just for the occasion. Pair it with a refreshing Perentie brew and you’ve got a celebration he won’t forget. It could also be his lucky day with a Father’s Day Competition and raffle giveaways throughout the day, all the while with live music for those cool afternoon vibes. Kingston Park Raceway Ultimate Father’s Day Experience

If your dad is the type to put the pedal to the metal, he can have some fun in a Sodi SR5 Race Kart and compete in the Father’s Day Go Kart Challenge on 7 September, with 4 races being held on the 1100-metre Le Mans Track at 10 am, noon and 2 pm. The top 3 drivers from each group will take home a trophy. Book your dad in for the 2-hour experience, for $130. Bookings are essential so be sure to pre-register via Father’s Day Go Kart Challenge. Rum Blending and Distillery Tour

Treat Dad to a special Father’s Day Rum Blending Experience at Australia’s oldest distillery. It’s never too early for a rum on Father’s Day, right? Choose from 2 sessions at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm, which include a guided distillery tour and blending session, for $80. If you decide to dine with your dad at the restaurant on Sunday, he’ll receive a Beenleigh history book, a stubby cooler and welcome drink as well. Bookings at Beenleigh Rum. Location: Beenleigh Artisan Rum Distillery, 142 Distillery Rd, Eagleby.

Golfing dads

Choose a hit indoors or from the range at some great Logan venues, giving you plenty of time to fit in a bit of golf between breakfast, lunch and dinner for that special father figure in your life, such as Marsden Golf Driving Range open Sunday 9 am to 7 pm, at 129 Fourth Avenue, Marsden; Big Swing Golf Underwood – Indoor Golf and Bar open 9 am to 4 pm at The Zone, 1 Compton Road, Underwood; The Tee Lounge which is Logan’s first boutique golf simulator experience with 4K display on world renowned golf courses, open 8 am to 8 pm at 2892-2896 Logan Road, Underwood.

Or make a day of it and stroll the greens at a variety of lovely courses throughout the City of Logan. Choose one close to home, or venture out a little further and try a fresh perspective at Meadowbrook Golf Club open 6 am to 9 pm at Golf Course Drive, Meadowbrook;  Riverlakes Golf Course open 6 am to 6 pm at 34 Gleneagles Avenue, Cornubia; Windaroo Lakes Golf Club open 6 am to 8 pm at Anna Louise Terrace, Windaroo, which is holding a special Par 3 Comp for dads to enjoy and putting on Dine with Dad special of a free steak topper at lunch or dinner in the restaurant; Mt Warren Park Golf Club open 5 am to 6 pm at 13 Bardeyn Halliday Drive, Mount Warren Park; Carbrook Golf Club open 6 am to 5:30 pm at 653 Beenleigh-Redland Bay Road, Carbrook.

Free Disc Golf Courses

Dad could be up for something different this Father’s Day if he’s feeling kinda sporty, so consider a local disc golf course that offers plenty of fun and fitness for free. There is one at  Logan Gardens at 12 Civic Parade, Logan Central, and another at Alexander Clark Park at Dewar Drive, Loganholme.

Father’s Day feasts

Breakfasts: If dad is an early bird, head out for a scrumptious Father’s Day buffet breakfast. Click on the following locations for their special Father’s Day events at Browns Plains Hotel, Lions Club Springwood, Fitzy’s Loganholme, The Logan Village Hotel or Hotel HQ in Underwood.

Brunch: Albert River Wines has a special Father’s Day Brunch planned from noon to 3 pm on Sunday with live music and a choice of 2 or 3 courses, all in the gorgeous setting at 869 Mundoolun Connection Road, Tamborine. For brunch enthusiasts, here are some more suggestions of where to brunch in Logan.

Lunch/Dinner: Or several of the clubs have Father’s Day dishes for lunch and dinner as well, such as Greenbank Services Club at the Gardens Steak and Seafood restaurant. Then there are the hearty feasts to be had at a range of all-you-can-eat buffet restaurants around Logan.

Snag a snack

If a low-key Sunday is more your dad’s preference, then at least support the Rotary Club of Logan in their efforts to help other dads in the community through their various projects. The group are holding a Bunnings Father’s Day BBQ at Bunnings in Compton Road, Underwood, on Thursday, 4 September, from 5 pm to 7 pm so rustle up your loose change and snag a sausage sandwich or 3 to help them raise funds.
