Doing school differently in Eagleby
Eagleby Learning College is a quiet achiever among local schools. The college, which is nestled among trees and green space in Herses Road, caters for students wanting to continue their schooling outside the traditional setting of a mainstream high school.
It offers a range of programs, from traditional subjects to a growing list of vocational certificate offerings.
Councillor Karen Murphy says Eagleby Learning College has been providing a valuable alternative education option for 30 years.
‘Staff members are very passionate about giving students a second chance to achieve their certificates, and their hard work is reflected in growing rates of graduates from the college,’ she says.
With no limits on catchment areas, the college enrols students aged 15 years and older and also offers courses for adults who want to complete their high school education at an accelerated pace.
