Rumble reinforces value of Logan Village Green
The heartbeat of our community is green and pumping … and it’s great.
That was the overwhelming feedback from our massively successful free community event in September to celebrate the completion of upgrade works at the Logan Village Green.
So many people – many of them Division 4 residents, business owners and entertainers – played a part in bringing the event together and ensuring a bumper turnout on the day.
The car show was a huge hit with more than 100 vehicles from vintage to modern eras, which also highlighted the benefits of the open lawn space in the heart of the Green.
Local kids were buzzing at the skate clinic and demonstration from The Rumble skate team while everyone enjoyed live tunes from The Hat Racks, along with top-notch offerings from the food trucks and markets.
Many local service groups gave their support including Logan Village Rural Fire Brigade, Logan Village Lions and the Logan Village scout group.
We also had the backing of a number of businesses who supported the day, including Ray White Waterford and Faded Ink Tattoo & Barber Shop.
Division 4 Councillor Nathan St Ledger says the event highlighted that the community really enjoyed getting out and connecting with each other.
‘The Logan Village Green provides the perfect space to do that with the facilities on offer catering for all ages,’ Cr St Ledger says.
‘I look forward to hosting other community events at this fabulous local outdoor space.’
The upgrade delivered on feedback from the community at the Logan Village Forum in 2018.
Staged works included:
› Returning the northern end of the Green to turf and seating areas to create a larger events space adjacent to the RSL cenotaph.
› Upgraded heritage courtyard and precinct along with improving the Wharf Street frontage.
› Increasing shade by planting dozens of native trees and shrubs.
