Art and Nature Symposium: Logan Art Gallery

Join the free Art and Nature Symposium at Logan Art Gallery on Saturday 22 August 2026.

Bringing together artists, environmental advocates and First Nations voices, the symposium explores the connections between art, nature and community while encouraging positive environmental action.

The symposium is presented as part of Logan Art Gallery’s major exhibition, Where do I belong? Our birds through art, a contemporary exhibition celebrating the beauty, resilience and vulnerability of Australia’s native birdlife.

Through painting, photography, sculpture and installation, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on our relationship with the natural world and imagine a future where native species can thrive.

Featuring new commissions alongside significant loan works, the exhibition brings together local, Queensland and nationally recognised artists.

Exhibitors include Richard Lewer, Lucy Culliton, Del Kathryn Barton, Anna Louise Richardson, Michael Cook, Abdul-Rahman Abdullah, Ben Quilty, Leila Jeffreys and Dead Puppet Society, alongside newly commissioned works by 15 local artists.

Together, their works create a vibrant and thought-provoking exploration of art, nature and belonging.

Free parking is available at the gallery via Wembley Road. Woodridge Station is approximately 750m (around a 10-minute walk) from the venue.
