Best 2025 Christmas events and activities in Logan
With Christmas just around the corner on the 2025 calendar, festive cheer is in full swing around the City of Logan.
Here’s how to make the most of the holiday season, with our list of some of the best Christmas events and activities to take the family, from Christmas markets and movie nights to joyous carols for the local community to enjoy.
Write and drop off a letter to Santa
Inclement weather does not put off Santa’s hard-working elves. Your little ones can write a letter to the big man in red himself (and don’t forget to remind them to include their name, age and return address so he can reply). We’ve heard that he sometimes replies with a little treat as well. A Santa’s Letterbox can be found at a Christmas Lights display at 14 Rachel Drive, Crestmead, and at Logan Central Plaza near Santa’s Throne (post by 15 December for a reply to a return address).
Find the perfect presents at a Christmas market
Make Christmas shopping an enjoyable experience this year at a Christmas market in Logan, where twinkly lights and beautifully decorated trees will be in abundance. These markets are full of cheer with plenty of artisan stalls with unique and handmade wares, along with food trucks, and if you time it right, sometimes a visit from Santa. Some local ones coming up on 13 December are at the Christmas Family Fun Day – Loganlea and Christmas Festival Market at Distillery Road Market, in Eagleby.
Support your community with a Christmas cake and raffle
It’s finally that magical time of year when you can indulge in cake for a great cause. The beloved Aussie tradition that is the Lions Christmas cake is a popular purchase and helps vital fundraising. Every cake, packed with fruit and quality natural ingredients, helps fund important community programs across the nation – follow the Rochedale Springwood Lions Club Facebook page to find out where you can pick one up, and enter their Christmas trailer raffle.
Embrace the season of giving this year
Get into the Christmas spirit this year by giving back to those most in need of festive cheer. Several local organisations already have great Christmas appeals underway that support families doing it tough, seniors spending Christmas alone and children in shelters or special care. There are numerous ways to show your support: simply donate or go Christmas present shopping for the cause of your choice. Here’s our list of where to donate in Logan for Christmas.
Sing Christmas carols with the community
From fundraising Christmas concerts to church carols and glitzy galas, you’ll discover the reason for the season when you gather with fellow songsters. Many local communities have already sung their hearts out since the beginning of December, but residents can still check their local community groups to see if any more are being held, such as Christmas Carols by Candlelight – Greenbank on 14 December.
Catch a festive show at Logan Entertainment Centre
Musical greats will be gracing the Logan Entertainment Centre stage on 13 December, as Australian cabaret icon Libby O’Donovan OAM delivers hits from the holiday classic, Love Actually, in her show Christmas Actually.
Take your pets to see Santa
If your pets have been good all year, take them for pet photos with Santa at Logan Hyperdome. Special after-hours photography sessions will be available from now until mid-December, where your four-legged companions can meet the big man in red, in a quiet environment after shoppers have gone home, from 5:30 pm to 8: 30 pm. Create new Christmas memories and show your pets how magical the season can be – online bookings are essential.
Indulge in seasonal seafood and Christmas treats
The best thing about Christmas down under might just be the seafood. From traditional fish and chips to fresh oysters, and crustaceans served from tank to table, the City of Logan has a fabulous selection of restaurants, takeaways and markets where you can enjoy the finest catch of the day in a range of recipes and styles, from fresh to cooked to perfection. Drive around and admire Christmas light displays
Logan lights up with Christmas spirit every year, thanks to talented, hard-working and Yuletide-loving residents. There are walk-through displays filled with giant inflatables and animatronics, and even synchronised light shows you can enjoy from your car seat. We’ve created a Best list of Logan Christmas Lights for 2025, listing 80 houses across 33 suburbs throughout the City of Logan, the times the lights are on each evening, and the dates until they switched off after Christmas Day.
