Parks and playgrounds in Logan

Parks are for everyone, whether you’re looking to host a picnic, have a go at the monkey bars or just escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We’ve rounded up some of the most picturesque parks and a few of the best playgrounds in Logan.

Riverdale Park

Little archaeologists will have a dino-mite time at Riverdale Park, complete with a 14-metre long triceratops play structure, dinosaur fossils and more. Meanwhile, adults can take a leisurely stroll by the grassy areas, gazebos and duck lagoon. The park is also connected to the river if you’d like to get in some fishing.

Mabel Park

You can do it all at Mabel Park – enjoy nature play on logs and boulders, host a barbecue or even charge your phone on the Magneto Cycle, which will charge based on your cycling speed.

Flagstone Park

Beat the heat at Flagstone Park, an oasis in the summer months. Kids absolutely love the water play area with its multiple standing water buckets that will soak them from head to toe. There are also water jet shooters and fountains to frolic in. There’s even a popular dog-friendly water park, so you can bring the entire family.

Daisy Hill Conservation Park

A haven for both humans and koalas, there’s much to do at Daisy Hill.  Multiple trails are available for mountain bikers, equestrians, and bushwalkers. There are also undercover seating areas and plenty of grassy spots to set up a picnic or barbecue lunch. Finish off a perfect day out with a free visit to the Koala Centre, where you can learn more about the species through keeper talks and interactive displays. Your kids will love watching the resident koalas eat and snooze in the large outdoor enclosure.

Solandra Park

Calling all astronauts, a rocket ship has landed in Solandra Park. The playground features an exciting 6.6 metre rocket ship play tower and slide, swing, moon buggy and more.

Berrinba Wetlands

If you’re looking for fresh air and lake views, this spot in Berrinba is teeming with natural beauty and wildlife. You’ll sight possums scurrying in trees and pelicans near the water as you stroll or bike through 8.5 kilometres of shared trails. If you’d like to learn more about the area, there is also an interpretive centre with interactive LCD screens and a viewing platform. As there are 100 bird nesting boxes, Berrinba is a favourite among birdwatchers.

Underwood Park

Here you’ll find one of the most idyllic picnic spots in the City of Logan, complete with a gazebo set behind a luminous lagoon with a decorative bridge. With skate facilities, barbecue grills and a massive playground straight out of a storybook, there’s plenty to do besides admiring the grounds. Underwood Park is home to Funderwood Hollow, a Spielart playground, complete with whimsical treehouses, climbing wall, pedal monorail and more.

Don’t forget to check out Chung Tian Temple next door for a little peace and some refreshments at the Water Drop Tea House.

Alexander Clark Park

Located on the banks of the Logan River, Alexander Clark Park boasts great facilities – barbecue, basketball, playground – along with lush bushland views and a gigantic koala play tower. Animal lovers will rejoice, as you’ll spot plenty of birds and native wildlife as you explore the walking and bike tracks.

Check out the parks directory for your nearest park on the Logan City Council website.
