Lasso Country Music Festival brings US rising star
Lasso Country Music Festival is just around the corner on Saturday 11 July, promising to set a milestone for the event with its first international headlining artist to hit the stage at Eagleby.
Festival Director Ashlyn Dinsdale says the 2026 lineup led by US international country breakout Drake Milligan, represents a defining moment for the local event, to be held for the third year at Distillery Road Market.
The 2026 event will feature performances across two stages, including an outdoor main stage and an indoor, free-entry acoustic stage, offering fans a balance of high-energy performances and intimate, stripped-back sets. Festival-goers can also expect a curated selection of food and drink vendors, artisan markets, official merchandise, and artist signing sessions throughout the day.
‘I’m incredibly proud that we get to host Drake Milligan at Lasso,’ Ashlyn says.

‘We started this festival with the goal of delivering fresh, modern lineups while creating real opportunities for emerging artists. Having Drake headline in 2026 not only fulfils that vision, it genuinely exceeds what we imagined was possible at this stage of the festival’s journey.’
Ashlyn says she and her team have loved creating and building something that they believe has become ‘truly special’ for the country music community.
‘What started as a small concept has grown into the Lasso we know and love today, with our first ever international headliner.
‘It’s been amazing to see how quickly Lasso has become a staple for many fans, while still staying true to our mission to supporting our Australian artists and push Aussie country to a younger audience.
‘This year feels like a real step forward, and we can’t wait to share it with everyone.’

Lasso Country Music Festival continues its ascent as one of Australia’s most exciting independent country music events. Known for its progressive programming and strong commitment to original Australian country music, Lasso seamlessly blends international talent with a curated lineup of rising and established local artists.
Milligan’s headline appearance comes at a pivotal moment in his career. The Texas-born singer-songwriter has quickly become one of country music’s most talked-about new voices, praised for his traditional influences, charismatic live performances, and crossover appeal.
Joining Drake Milligan on the 2026 lineup is a diverse and carefully curated mix of Australian artists including The Wet Whistles, Austin Mackay, Tyla Rodrigues, Briana Dinsdale, Michael Honan, Jaydin Shingleton, Jay Santilli, Riley Ziskey, Beau Shearer, and Phoebe Rose.
