Purrfect 'Pet Picks' of the week - cats needing new homes

Meet the current collection of Logan furry friends who are preened and prepped and ready to find new homes.

From curious 7-month-old Chirpy who loves to meow and chat, to 8-month-old Noppert with the calmest vibe imaginable, these kittens and cats are the Pet Picks of the week at the Kingston Animal Management Centre and ready for adoption.

Each cat is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and registered, so all that’s left to do is visit, have a cuddle, view the pet adoption terms, pay the adoption fee and take your new furry friend home.

Please note: The pets included in this article cannot be placed ‘on hold’ for adoption and some may have already found new homes since this article was published. If you are interested in meeting or enquiring about a specific pet mentioned here, please visit the Animal Management Centre or check online to see their status at the Pets Available For Adoption council webpage.

Each pet is listed on the Council website with their own photo, helpful details and their personal story, including details of their behaviour, what they love and sometimes how many months they have been waiting for adoption.

For example, the online listing for a cute little kitten called Roux appears as follows:

Kennel Number: K175289
Animal Type: Cat
Breed: DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR CAT
Animal Name: Roux
Cross Breed: Yes
Desexed: Yes
Sex: Female
Colour: BLACK WHITE
Story: Roux is a beautiful 6-month-old black and white domestic short hair with a personality that shines the moment you meet her. She’s the kind of cat who doesn’t just enjoy attention — she seeks it out with gentle confidence. Roux loves people and thrives on connection. Her soft purrs, bright eyes, and affectionate nature make her a comforting presence in any home. Roux is more than friendly — she’s a companion in the truest sense, ready to bring warmth, sweetness, and a whole lot of love to her new family. Roux is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, registered and $285.00 to adopt.

To view all the cats and dogs who are in need of new homes, visit the Pets Available For Adoption council webpage.

Animal Management Centre staff also advise that Logan City Council has laws to help residents become responsible pet owners, and it is advised to check a home address on the Council webpage for animal adoption to see how many pets are allowed on a property depending on its size and location. There are also pet adoption terms.
